Image via CrunchBaseTwitter Inc. began mixing ads into its vast stream of short messages on Tuesday, a move that one analyst likened to a kid who has finally grown up and found a job.
But whether the San Francisco microblogging service can actually generate enough income from its new "promoted tweets" platform to support itself in the long run remains to be seen.
